Person of COLOUR

What does this phrase even mean? I woke up to this phrase in recent years. I thought the correct phrase was “person of origin” but no, there is a term as “person of color” and is referred to anyone who is not white. And who is white according to the ones who think others are not white? Is there something called as more white or whiter, whitest, slightly white, not too white but white. “Fifty shades of grey” is not just a bestseller but is the undertone of humanity today.

A saying goes by “a problem well defined is a problem half solved.” So, do we now know what is the problem? Or we are just angry because others are angry but we don’t care to understand the issue on a deeper level.

Discrimination comes later, it is the conditioning that comes first. We are all programmed to believe that black or dark is associated with anything evil, negative, sinister, ugly. That a black heart is an evil heart, that a dark mind is a twisted psychopath, smearing black paint on someone’s face is a sign of stigma and so on and so on. When we want to protest, we wear black. Again. Why is the word “dark” or “black” used with such negative connotations? More than how people look at dark skin, it is what they have been conditioned to believe- that they have to instantly dislike/hate upon black things.




Whereas darkness is the ultimate reality of life. Everything was born from the darkness and will dissolve into darkness one day. Ever heard of a fact more certain than this?

I am falling short of words here, may be this did not come out the way I wanted it to, i don’t know. It’s just annoying when someone says, “black is not my skin, black is your heart.” Something is grossly wrong with this phrase too, I think.
