The Global Book Community Awards (GBCA) is the flagship event of Qwerty Thoughts, with its first edition being organized in 2020.

GBCA 2020 celebrates the passion for books. These awards recognize and reward the spirit, achievements, and efforts of knowledge-sharing and book communities across the globe.

It is based on the company’s belief, that these communities play a big role in bringing people closer to books and thus shaping the future of humankind.

Over 1000+ nominations were received from book communities, including book clubs, reading communities, author-led communities, genre-based reading groups, literary societies and more, from over 30+ countries worldwide.

Book Communities and Author Partners from across geographies associated with the awards, reaching over a million book lovers in these first-of-its-kind, global awards for book communities.

The nominations started on 14th May 2020, with the Top 100 finalists getting declared on 10th Aug 2020, based on jury decision. Applications for Round 2 started on 15th Aug 2020, with Public voting for their favourite communities getting a 50% weightage in deciding the Top 3 finalists across 6 categories in this round.

20 winners were declared across 6 categories, in a grand virtual event on the official website and social media handles of QwertyThoughts.com on 29th Sep 2020.
